Muay Thai Kickboxing Toughens Up Sports and Leisure Destination Complex in Thailand

The battle to become Asia’s top international sports destination just became tougher as Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) has appointed former Muay Thai champion “Thanootong’’ Prasert Intanoo to manage the martial arts programme at the large Phuket, Thailand sports centre.   Just as muay thai boxing stesses perseverance and expertise, the appointment is another example of the PIASLC recruiting world-class specialists to staff the emerging world-class facility and help place it as the leading sports and leisure destination in Asia.

Phuket International Academy Sports and Leisure Club (PIASLC) has diverse high-quality sports, wellness and recreational facilities in operation with more under construction and  planned to be finished over the next year.

The PIASLCincludes almost a dozen specialized sports academies.  The new assignmentof Prasert Intanoo will bring the Martial Arts Academy to the forefront.   The PIA Aquatics Academy and the Football Academy are already positioned as premier programmes. The Aquatic Academy provides the general public, local schools and community groups, national and international teams, special swimming programmes, water polo squads, a variety of watersports events and activities.   Now Muay Thai joins the highly regarded youth soccer training programme offered at the top-rated sports and recreation facility in Southeast Asia.

Former Thailand national flyweight champ Khun Prasert was a Muay Thai professional kickboxer for 15 years with an outstanding record of seventy victories.  He graduated from Taksin University in Songkhla Province with a degree in physical education.  He went on to work for the Marriott hospitality group as a Muay Thai teacher, and in his role as Recreation Supervisor directed wellness, corporate teambuilding and kid’s zone activities. Khun “Nok” (his Thai nickname) is also a qualified Pilates instructor and certified by the Thai Yoga Institute as a teacher.

The PIASLC is part of the Phuket International Academy (PIA).  PIA is an integrated facility hosting Phuket’s newest International School, a multi-faceted Sports and Leisure Club for elite athletes, amateur enthusiasts, artists and wellness seekers – all within the Mind Centre sanctuary that provides training in the cultivation of mental and emotional equilibrium.
